Kim Loliya

Biography

Kim Loliya is psychotherapist, supervisor and the Director of Black Psychotherapy, a Black and Global Majority mental health service based in Brixton. They lead a multidisciplinary team of 40 counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and support staff, alongside overseeing operations, clinical governance and strategic development. Kim designs and delivers education, training and community engagement programmes that extend the service’s impact beyond the therapy room, supporting both practitioners and communities to deepen their relationship to justice, care and collective wellbeing. Their work is grounded in decolonial, abolitionist and Black feminist frameworks, with a focus on transforming both practice and systems. Alongside their service role, Kim lectures on postgraduate programmes and they research Afrofuturism and other speculative practices as creative and political tools for resistance, reimagining and renewal.
